THE EBD TEACHER PAGE

Working in an educational setting with kids with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) might be likened to a behavioral theme park...some of the rides are scary, and we can't stop talking about it afterward.

Old joke in the trade:

Question: "What should I do when I find out that I've been assigned to teach a class of kids with behavior disorders?"

Answer: "Relocate."

A prerequisite for teaching kids with emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD) is believing in the truth of this statement:  "A weed is no more than a flower in disguise."  James Russell Lowell   Another prerequisite is a strong desire to seek out more information on our kids and effective positive practices to help them make better behavior choices on their way to becoming a better person.  You've already found our BehaviorAdvisor.com web site, and below are some links for teachers of these youngsters.  They, in addition to the pages on this site, might provide more helpful answers to the question "What do I do when...?"

No Pup; the kids have the EBD, not the teachers (at least not all of them).
